Blank Display From Rearview Cameras Forces Bentley To Recall 3,000 Bentayga SUVs - autojosh

Blank display from Rearview Cameras forces Bentley to recall more than 3,000 Bentayga SUVs.

An issue with a software causes a blank screen to display when the sporty Bentayga SUV is in Reverse.

Not displaying the rearview camera images increases the risk of a crash, according to a notice issued by NHTSA.

Customers will take affected vehicles to dealerships, who will update infotainment software.

The update will take approximately 3.5 hours and it will be performed free of charge.

Bentley is recalling more than 3,000 Bentayga SUVs sold in the United States due to a software malfunction that makes legally mandated backup cameras display blank images.

A recall notice issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reveals that an issue with a software causes a blank screen to display instead of rearview camera image, when the sporty SUV is in Reverse.

Not displaying the rearview camera images increases the risk of a crash, according to a notice issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The affected vehicles are Bentaygas manufactured between July 10, 2020, and August 31, 2022. A total of 3,134 examples of the Bentayga are involved in the recall, including 1,472 models from 2021 and 1,662 from 2022.

Bentley will notify customers on or before December 2, 2022, who will take their vehicles to dealerships to update the infotainment software. The update will take approximately 3.5 hours and it will be performed free of charge.

But this isn’t the first time Bentley will be recalling its best-selling model. Back in June 2020, the carmaker recalled more than 6,000 Bentayga SUVs globally over a leak in the fuel line quick connector, which in the presence of an ignition source, can increase the risk of a fire.
