BMW’s Latest Recall Forces The Company To Lower Their Forecast For The Year
BMW recalled about 1.5 million vehicles due to brake problems, which is why it lowered its business forecast for the year.
If automakers previously expected an increase in the number of deliveries annually for this year, they now expect a decline. BMW now forecasts an operating margin of between six and seven percent for this financial year, while it previously expected it to be between eight and ten percent.
The forecast adjustment was due to the suspension of delivery and technical measures related to the integrated brake system by the supplier.
“Stopping deliveries of vehicles not yet in the hands of customers will hurt global sales in the second half of the year,” the German automaker wrote in a press release.
As they added, the technical measures affect more than 1.5 million vehicles and will cause high additional warranty costs in the third quarter of this year.
