Bugatti experts takes every W16 Mistral to 250 miles, top-speed of 186 mph before delivering $5m hypercar to their owners.

Master evaluators check the functionality of features within the cockpit and precision of the steering system’s response.

The W16 Mistral is the first open-top Bugatti model since 2015 and the last to use the brand’s legendary 8.0-liter W16 engine.





On November 9th 2024, it achieved a new top-speed record of 453.91 km/h to earn its status as the world’s fastest-ever roadster.

Despite the jaw-dropping price, all 99 examples of the open-top car was sold out even before its revealed to the public.

Before handling the keys of €5 million W16 Mistral to their owners, a select few of Bugatti specialists takes each of the handcrafted hypercar to a minimum of 248.5 miles (400 kilometers) of rigorous evaluation to ensure they meet incomparably high standards.

Bugatti’s test route is across the diverse landscapes of Alsace, where its master evaluators check the functionality of features within the cockpit and the precision of the steering system’s response and return characteristics.





As part of its quality assessment programs, Bugatti moves from the open-road to high-speed track at the Colmar airfield, where Bugatti takes the W16 Mistral to speeds reaching 186 mph (300 km/h) to evaluate the emergency braking systems, ESP and ABS.

“The W16 Mistral represents the pinnacle of our roadster heritage and the final expression of our legendary W16 engine,” said Christophe Piochon, President of Bugatti Automobiles.

“Putting every vehicle through a minimum of 400 km of assessment, our evaluation protocol isn’t just about validating functionality, but a confirmation that each W16 Mistral is imbued with the pure essence of quality, precision, and craftsmanship that makes a Bugatti truly extraordinary.”

Bugatti began the delivery of first examples of €5 million ($5 million+) W16 Mistral  and despite the jaw-dropping price, all 99 examples of the limited-edition open-top car was sold out even before its revealed to the public.
