BYD’s 15 millionth Vehicle, Denza N8L SUV, rolls off the assembly line, 2 months after the 14 millionth.

Anniversary car is also the 15,000th example of the large six-seat plug-in hybrid SUV from BYD’s Europe-bound Denza.

In just 13 months, production of BYD’s New Energy Vehicles jumped from 10 million to 15 million due to the popularity of its products. 

China’s BYD Group is celebrating production of its 15 millionth New Energy Vehicles (NEV), two months after the 14 millionth, a Song Pro, rolled off the assembly line on 9 October 2025 and its keys handed to Brazilian President, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

BYD’s 15 millionth NEV is the Denza N8L ultra-luxury SUV dubbed as the “Chevrolet Tahoe Killer” for its powerful 762-hp tri-motor setup, 0-62mph acceleration in 3.9-second and 1,300-km (808 miles) combined range.

Built on the e3 e3 (e-cube) platform as the Z9GT, the anniversary car is also the 15,000th example of the large six-seat plug-in hybrid SUV from BYD’s Europe-bound premium technology-led brand, Denza.

In just 13 months, production of BYD’s New Energy Vehicles, which encompasses both pure-electric BEVs and electrified models, jumped from 10 million to 15 million due to the Group’s expansion and popularity of its products.

The latest achievement follows other milestones, including the production of 4.182 million vehicles between January and November of 2025, a year-on-year increase of 11.3%, as well as overseas sales that reached 917,000 units during the same period.

Last year, BYD Group sold 4,272,145 vehicles globally under several brands, including Fangchengbao, Denza and Yangwang – a ten-fold increase compared to the 2020 figure of 427,302 vehicles.
