Photos of a neatly stored 1960s-era Cadillac Fleetwood limousine used by Chief Samuel Ladoke Akintola—a prominent Nigerian independence leader, lawyer and orator—recently gained publicity on the Nigerian social media airwaves.
Akintola was the second Premier of the Western Region of Nigeria as well as the 13th Aare Ona Kakanfo (Yoruba military title), two positions he held until January 15, 1966, when he was tragically assassinated during Nigeria’s first military coup.

The 1960/1961 Cadillac Fleetwood Series 75 limousine, currently preserved and displayed at the National Museum of Unity in Dugbe, Ibadan, was reportedly the official vehicle of Chief Samuel Ladoke Akintola.

A quick search by Autojosh shows the same black 1960/1961 Cadillac Fleetwood Series 75, fitted with the WNG 125 registration number, on display at a location that could not be ascertained at the time of writing.
