Factory 56 Produces 22 Millionth Vehicle, A Mercedes EQS 580 4Matic Electric Car

22 millionth Mercedes-Benz vehicle, an EQS 580 4Matic, produced at Factory 56 in Sindelfingen, Germany, rolls off the assembly line.
Factory 56, which opened in 1915, has produced high-end Mercedes-Benz vehicles ever since records began in 1946.
All variants of S-Class, as well as the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, E-Class and S-Class Guard are also built at Factory 56.
20 millionth vehicle built at Factory 56, an S 500 e Plug-in Hybrid from the 222 series, rolled off the assembly line in 2015.
Mercedes-Benz is celebrating a production milestone at Factory 56 as the 22 millionth Mercedes vehicle, a red metallic EQS 580 4Matic EV, rolled off the production line at its plant in Sindelfingen, Germany this week.
Factory 56, which opened in 1915 as an aircraft factory, has emerged as a centre of excellence for producing high-end Mercedes-Benz vehicles ever since records began in 1946.
In addition to the EQS, all variants of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, as well as the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, E-Class, GLC, CLS, S-Class Guard and Mercedes-AMG GT 4-door models are also built at Factory 56 in Sindelfingen.

Thanks to the flexibility of the plant, deliveries of the S-Class rose to over 90,000 units in 2022, an increase of 5% over the previous year, while 19,200 units of EQS were delivered to customers, driven by strong demand in the US.
Back in 2015, the 20 millionth vehicle built at Factory 56, an S 500 e Plug-in Hybrid from the 222 series, rolled off the assembly line in Sindelfingen.
