Ford Partners With Chinese Automaker To Build An Electric Vehicle
China is a massive polluter of the atmosphere, so they are doing everything possible to go green and limit the use of fossil fuels in their cars and industries.
A Chinese automaker, Zotye, has sealed a partnership deal with Ford to create a line of electric vehicles specifically for the Chinese market.
They are operating under a conjoined name “Zotye Ford Automobile Company”. The collaboration will bring forth a range of stylish and affordable electric vehicles for consumers in China. They have made a combined investment of $756 Million (approx 272 Billion Naira) to make this happen.
China’s EV sales accounted for 40% of total EV sales in the world in 2016; so its not surprising that American automakers are trying to cash in on the potentials in the Chinese market.
The Chinese government wants 5 million electric cars on the country’s roads by 2020. This is definitely a step in the right direction to meet the set goal.
