Ghanaian businessman Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has acquired a brand new Rolls-Royce Wraith Coupe, following report that he was interested in buying Chelsea FC.

His white Rolls-Royce Wraith Coupe wears a custom number plate ‘CW-1 22’, which denotes the initials of his nickname, Chairman Wontumi.

News of his latest acquisition was made known by Ghanaian Youtuber Zionfelix, who paid him a visit inside his Wontumi FM complex, and was told the Rolls-Royce cost 2.5 million Ghana Cedis (₦137 Million Naira), excluding shipping and duty costs.

This new purchase comes weeks after he disclosed intentions to buy the English football team, Chelsea FC, from Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, in the wake of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

“What I want to do now is to buy Chelsea Football Club. I’m a businessman, I do gold mining and [I can afford] £3 billion. I want to join the bid to buy the club.

“If I buy Chelsea, one of the first players I bring in is the Brazilain Vinicius Junior… What is £3 billion?”

“I will speak with Man United to see if I can also buy Ronaldo for Chelsea. I’d also look at signing Messi. Abramovich has done his best. It is time for him to support a Ghanaian or an African to buy Chelsea.”

Following the reports that he was interested in buying Chelsea FC, Ghanaian and football fans queried whether the popular “businessman and politician” was just looking for publicity.
