Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has presented brand new official vehicles to key educational and public institutions across the state, with a stern warning that the vehicles must not be converted into personal assets by government officials.

The vehicles, which include the Dongfeng Aeolus Mage, as well as Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 150 (LC150) models from the 2018–2023 facelift generation and the newer Land Cruiser 250 (LC250), were presented to the benefiting institutions on Friday at the Government House in Gusau.

The beneficiaries include Federal University Gusau, Zamfara State University, Talata Mafara, Abdu Gusau Polytechnic, Talata Mafara, and the College of Nursing and Midwifery, Gusau. Other recipients include the Teachers Service Board, Senior Secondary School Board, Quality Assurance, ZACAS and other state government institutions.

The state government said the vehicles are institutional assets provided to strengthen accreditation exercises, supervision, administration and other legitimate official engagements.

Speaking during the presentation, Governor Lawal directed the benefiting institutions to take full responsibility for the custody, deployment, maintenance and documentation of the vehicles.

He warned that heads of the institutions would be held accountable for misuse, unauthorised use or avoidable deterioration, stressing that the vehicles were provided to serve the institutions and the public, not individual officials.

Lawal said the initiative forms part of his administration’s efforts to provide infrastructure, equipment and institutional support aimed at improving education and public service delivery across Zamfara State.





He urged the beneficiaries to ensure the vehicles are deployed responsibly and continue to serve students, institutions and the people of Zamfara.
