Hennessey Launches VelociRaptor 500 Which Is Based On The Latest Ranger Raptor
Hennessey is known for putting the extra juice in trucks and SUVs (especially Ford models) and the American tuner has added the VelociRaptor 500 which is a tubed version of the already impressive Ranger Raptor which was unveiled some weeks ago.
As is the case with all of Hennessey’s offerings, the VelociRaptor 500 Ranger Raptor comes equipped with a bevy of upgrades in all areas, starting on the outside. There, the rugged pickup has been treated to a set of VelociRaptor bumpers, LED off-road lighting, unique 18-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels, 35-inch off-road tires, and “VelociRaptor 500” badging. Inside the cabin, the mid-sizer gets embroidered headrests, a unique build number plaque, and all-weather floor mats.
In stock form, the 2024 Ranger Raptor has a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 that makes 405 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. The only gearbox available is a 10-speed automatic gearbox. Hennessey adds a high-flow intake system, a larger front-mounted intercooler with a blow-off valve, and new engine management software. The result is a total of 500 hp and 550 lb-ft, which are gains of 95 hp and 120 lb-ft over the stock setup.
As is the case with the Hennessey VelociRaptor 500′ Bronco Raptor, the powerplant is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission sending power to an all-wheel drive system that has locking front and rear differentials, and a low-range transmission for additional off-road-capability.
The Hennessey VelociRaptor 500 package is already available to order, with production starting in the fourth quarter of 2023 and a limited edition of 200 units planned for 2024. The kit is priced at $24,950, which represents a significant amount considering that the Ford Ranger Raptor starts at $56,960.
