Davido officially became the first Nigerian music star to buy ultra-luxury Rolls-Royce Spectre after the ‘Unavailable’ crooner splashed out nearly N1 Billion naira on the two-door, four-seat Electric Coupe.
The award-winning Nigerian star’s latest purchase is expected to increase Google search for “Rolls-Royce Spectre” as many will want to know more about Electric Coupe, including its price and drive range.
Below are 9 things to know about Davido’s latest ride, the British luxury marque’s genre-defining all-electric super Coupé, as compiled by Autojosh.
1) All-electric drivetrain
The Spectre is fitted with two Separately Excited Synchronous Motors (SSMs). While the front electric motor produces 190kW (258hp)/ 365 Nm, the rear motor delivers 360kW (489hp)/ 710 Nm.
2) Performance
Spectre’s all-electric drivetrain equates to an internal combustion engine of 584 horsepower with 900Nm of torque, which allows the Spectre to achieve 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds (0-100km/h in 4.5 seconds).
3) Battery
It uses a 102-kWh lithium-ion battery, made using cobalt and lithium. When fully charged, it will allow the 2.9-tonne all-electric two-door, four-seat Coupé to go 530 kilometers (329 miles).
4) Charging time
With a 195 kW (DC) fast charger, the charging time from 10-80% is 34 minutes. This charging system will also produce a sufficient charge for 100km in around nine (9) minutes.
5) Door
At almost 1.5 metres in length, Spectre’s laser-welded pillarless coach doors, made from 100% aluminum, are the largest ever fitted to a Rolls-Royce.
According to the brand, the driver’s door closes automatically when the driver presses the brake pedal, a feature that is unique to Spectre Coupe.
6) Grille
Spectre’s Pantheon grille is the widest ever fitted to a Rolls-Royce. When softly illuminated with 22 LEDs, the polished stainless-steel vanes creates a subtle three-dimensional signature at night.
7) Starlight Doors
It also features a Starlight Doors, which incorporate 4,796 softly illuminated ‘stars’, a first on a series production Rolls-Royce. Customers can alternatively choose a backdrop of Canadel panelling, hand-crafted from a range of exquisite wood.
8) It is expensive
The Rolls-Royce Spectre with ultra-premium options starts at around $450,000 while speccing will take it over $500,000. But it will cost over N900 million to own in Nigeria after local taxes and deliveries.
9) Competitors
The Rolls-Royce Spectre will compete with all-electric flagships like the $300,000 Cadillac Celestiq EV. But its closest rival will be an all-electric car from Bentley, which the brand will be bringing to market in 2025.
