Honda Reduces EV Targets Once More And Redesigns Its Hybrid Logo
Honda has serious EV plans but is still abandoning its previously stated “zero-emissions percentage” for the year 2030. To compensate, it is focusing even more on hybrids and also providing those cars with the new brand logo that was initially only supposed to appear on EVs.
40 percent in 2030, that was still Honda’s goal in 2021 in the area of zero emissions, a category in which we can count both battery-electric cars and hydrogen cars for this brand. Honda apparently quietly updated that goal to 30 percent in 2030, but is now even abandoning that lower percentage. The brand does not dare to make new predictions, but sticks to the statement that this goal will not be achieved. According to Honda itself, this is, of course,, not due to the brand’s efforts, because with the Honda 0 sedan and SUV, there are plenty of new things coming in the electric field. The reason for not achieving the goals must therefore be sought in what we often hear: ‘the market’ is disappointing. Honda emphasises that it believes that EVs are ultimately the optimal solution for making passenger cars cleaner.

Those Honda 0 models bring a lot of news for Honda, including a new logo (no, not the car ). It is a simpler version of the ‘H’ that we have known for so long and was initially only going to be used for EVs. Now it turns out what was more logical anyway: Honda is also using this new logo on other models. However, it is limited to HEVs, or hybrids. For those hybrids, Honda is introducing a new hybrid system, which costs 30 percent less to produce than the current system and even 50 percent less than the system that Honda launched in 2018. And now we can only hope that those percentages remain the same …
