Hyundai Adds XRT Trim To The Santa Fe Which Is Off-Road Inspired (Photos)

Hyundai Santa Fe lineup is expanding for 2022 as the company has introduced a rugged-looking XRT variant. This model dresses up the Santa Fe with several enhancements.

The XRT trim builds on the SEL with Convenience package, a mid-level model below the Limited and Calligraphy. Hyundai will not offer the XRT as a hybrid, meaning the only engine option is the base 2.5-litre four-cylinder with 191 horsepower paired to a six-speed automatic transmission. Sadly, the 2.5-litre turbo-four with 272 hp and eight-speed dual-clutch is not available on the XRT.

The XRT includes black front and rear lower bumper fascia moulding, a matte-black grille, black mirror covers, and black roof rails and cross rails. Further enhancing the model’s styling are dark silver front and rear skid plates and several XRT-exclusive goodies such as black door side mouldings, exclusive side steps, and unique 18-inch dark alloy wheels.

On the interior layout, Hyundai didn’t give a listing but it gets a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an 8-inch infotainment system featuring wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other highlights include heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a wireless smartphone charger and an eight-way power driver’s seat.

Despite all the cladding, the Santa Fe XRT isn’t a hardcore offroad SUV as it is available in base front-wheel-drive and an optional  HTRAC all-wheel drive.
