Hyundai Motor Co To Begin Electric Vehicles Production In U.S.

Hyundai Motor Co plans to add electric vehicles (EV) to its Montgomery assembly line in the United States.

It plans to invest $300m to build the Electrified Genesis GV 70 and a hybrid Santa Fe at its U.S. manufacturing center.

The new plant is part of Hyundai Motor Group’s $7.4 billion investment plan for the U.S. to produce EVs, upgrade factories.





Hyundai Motor Co plans to add electric vehicles (EV) to its Montgomery assembly line in the United States, marking the South Korean automaker’s first EV production in the country, Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama said on Tuesday.

Hyundai said it plans to invest $300 million to build the Electrified Genesis GV 70 and a hybrid version of the Santa Fe at its U.S. manufacturing center.

The new plant is part of Hyundai Motor Group’s $7.4 billion investment plan for the U.S. to produce EVs, upgrade factories and develop smart mobility technologies.

The company hopes to choose a location for the dedicated EV plant this year, COO Jose Munoz said Wednesday at the New York International Auto Show..
