Italian Police Shows Off Its Lamborghini Cars Used For Urgent Medical Transport Of Kidney
Italian Police shows off its Lamborghini cars used for urgent medical transport of organs like kidney.
The Italian “Polizia Stradale” fleet consists of Urus Performante and two Huracans, all delivered free by Lamborghini.
The Urus, delivered last December, is the 6th Lamborghini made available for free to the police in their 20 years of collaboration.
Italian Police Force recently showed off its Lamborghini patrol cars racing through the streets to announce the latest addition to its supercar fleets, the Urus Performante Super SUV.
The Urus Performante is the sixth Lamborghini made available by Italian sports car manufacturer, Automobili Lamborghini, for free to the police in their 20 years of collaboration.
Delivered to Italian “Polizia Stradale” in December, the high-performance Urus Performante, which entered into service in 2024, joined the Highway Police’s Huracán LP610-4 sports cars.
Like the Huracán, the Urus Performante Super SUV will be used by the police for special services, including the urgent medical transport of organs like kidney.
Finished in the classic blue color of the Italian State Police and white, the Urus, like the Huracán LP610-4, has a light bar with 360° blue LED lights installed on the roof, together with a two-tone electric siren.
Inside, the Urus Performante packs an armored weapon box, plus life-saving features like a defibrillator for first aid response, as well as a portable fridge for the transportation of organs.
“It is with great pleasure that we are continuing our twenty-year co-operation with the Italian State Police,” Stephan Winkelmann, Lamborghini CEO said while handling over the keys to Super SUV to the Minister of the Interior.
“Knowing that our cars are used for public duties and, above all, for crucial operations to save human lives, can only make me and the whole company proud. These initiatives, which bring us great satisfaction, demonstrate our innate close ties with Italy.”
Powering the Urus Performante is a 666-horsepower twin-turbo V8 engine, which allows a 0 to 100 km/h (0-60 mph) acceleration in just 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 306 km/h (190 mph).
