Kia America Recalls Over 450,000 Telluride SUVs Over Fire Hazards

Kia America is recalling certain 2020–2024 Kia Telluride SUVs because the front seat power motor can overheat and cause a fire when parked or while driving. Owners are advised to park outside, away from structures, until the recall repair is complete. The action covers 462,869 SUVs.
In March 2024, the related 2020–2022 Hyundai Palisade SUVs and some 2020–2022 Kia Telluride SUVs were recalled because of a fire risk with a faulty trailer hitch wiring harness. That problem resulted in at least 25 incidents of fire and melting. Like this new, unrelated recall, owners were directed to park outside and away from structures. Owners are urged to take both recalls seriously and to have the free repairs performed as soon as possible.
