The 1,015-hp Revuelto is no longer the only plug-in hybrid Lamborghini. This is the Lamborghini Urus SE: an Urus with 800 hp of brutal plug-in power, but also with its unique front and rear!

The Lamborghini Urus will have been running for seven years later this year, but it is not yet time to replace the exotic and very strong sister model of cars such as the Audi Q8 and Porsche Cayenne. Well into its life cycle, the gentlemen and ladies in Sant’Agata Bolognese are installing a plug-in hybrid drivetrain in the hopeful Lambo. But there’s more. The urus is also optically improved. This is the Lamborghini Urus SE.

S.E. That is the addition that points to plug-in hybrid power in the world of the Urus. And strength: it has that. The Lamborghini Urus SE, just like the already-known versions of the Urus, simply has a 4.0 V8 with two turbos. In the Urus SE, however, it does not deliver 650 hp and 850 Nm, but 620 hp and 800 Nm. The eight-cylinder has been completely optimized to work together with an electric motor. The electric motor is 192 hp and 483 Nm strong and helps the plug-in Urus with a system power of no less than 800 hp and 950 Nm. The Urus sprints from a standstill to a speed of 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds. Despite its higher weight, thanks to its extra power, the Ursus SE is faster than the Urus S (0–100 km/h: 3.5 s). The sprint from a standstill to 200 km/h is even more impressive. It takes only 11.2 seconds (Urus S: 12.5 s). The top speed of the Lamborghini Urus SE is also higher at 312 km/h than that of the Urus S (305 km/h). You can reach a speed of 135 km/h on pure electric power.

Lamborghini gives the Urus SE a battery pack of serious size. It has a capacity of 25.9 kWh and is located under the loading floor of the luggage compartment but above the rear differential. The Urus SE can squeeze out more than 60 electric kilometres on electric power alone. The electric motor itself is housed in the eight-speed automatic transmission. So it is not a separate module that only deals with the front or rear axle. Lamborghini gives the Urus SE a completely new torque-vectoring system and also adjusts the appearance of the SUV.

New design

You can mainly recognize the Lamborghini Urus SE by its modified snout. It has a new hood, one at the very front that dips much deeper than on the Urus S. The LED matrix headlights are new and are a lot flatter than the viewers of the Urus without electric power. It is striking that Lamborghini has abandoned the Y-shaped light signature of the LED daytime running lights at the front. The grille and bumper also have a different shape. There are also differences at the rear. The Y-shaped light signature remains here, but new is the grille housed below and between the taillights. The license plate moves down one floor and is no longer in the tailgate but in the rear bumper. As a result, the entire tailgate is also new, just like the rear bumper. The redesigned rear spoiler, together with the new diffuser, gives the Urus SE up to 35 percent more downforce at high speed, according to the Italians.

The Lamborghini Urus SE also differs from the non-plug versions, although the differences are small. A larger (12.3-inch) infotainment screen is now located centrally on the dashboard. The layout of the menus has also been revised. If you look closely, you will see that the outflow openings of the ventilation system also have new grilles. There is also a screen with a diagonal of 12.3 inches behind the steering wheel.

Lamborghini is also introducing new alloy wheels and new paint colours on the Urus SE.
