The pilot of the Southwest Airlines flight reported seeing someone on the runway to air traffic control after it was cleared to land at 8 p.m

The controller asked the pilot :

“Where exactly do you see the man?”

“They are behind us now,” the pilot said.

Southwest said in a statement that the pilot “maneuvered to avoid an individual who became visible” shortly after the plane touched down.

The airline said none of the 59 people on board the flight were injured in the incident. It added that it is fully cooperating with local law enforcement and the Federal Aviation Administration.
