Meet The 2026 McLaren W1, Its All-new $2.1 Million Flagship Hypercar
2026 McLaren W1, the latest member of the “1” series, follows on from the legendary F1 and its successor, the P1.
W1 has a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 paired with an electric motor, which combines to deliver 1,258-hp and 988 pound-feet of torque.
All-new powertrain allows a McLaren W1 to reach 60 mph from standstill in 2.7 seconds and a top-speed of 217 mph.
0-124 mph in a phenomenal 5.8 seconds – making the W1 fastest accelerating road-legal McLaren ever.
Just 399 examples of the W1 will be made, each starting at $2.1m, before several customization options available.
McLaren has finally unveiled the all-new 1,258 horsepower W1 hypercar. The all-new flagship made its debut on Sunday October 6th 2024 on the 50th anniversary of the british sports car brand’s first Formula 1 World Championship win.
The new flagship car, the latest member of the “1” series, follows on from the legendary F1 from the 1990s and its era-defining successor, the hybrid P1, which launched in 2013.
McLaren W1 features the brand’s all-new High-Performance Hybrid Powertrain that consists of its new MHP-8 V-8 engine and its F1-derived battery technology, which combines to deliver a monumental 1,258 horsepower and 988 pound-feet of torque.
This all-new powertrain allows a 0-60 mph in as little as 2.7 seconds and a 0-124 mph in a phenomenal 5.8 seconds – making it the W1 fastest accelerating road-legal McLaren ever. W1 tops out at 217 mph.
For exceptional aerodynamic performance, the W1 boasts an aero system, which includes the all-new purpose-built McLaren Aerocell and the new McLaren Active Long Tail – which, in race mode, extends backwards by 300mm.
The W1 also boasts a F1-inspired side pods work, which works with the exterior surfaces to guide the airflow around the Aerocell, and a new Anhedral doors with integrated aero blades, which also an integral part of the aerodynamic package.
Inside, it has an 8.0-inch touchscreen on the dashboard, which features Apple CarPlay and pair of USB ports for device connectivity and charging. Options includes a Bowers & Wilkins stereo system.
Just 399 examples of the W1 will be made, with each starting at $2.1 million, before several customization options available to the lucky owners through the McLaren MSO program.
