Mayweather’s Bugatti Targeted As US Court Orders Boxer To Pay Nigerian Firm $2.4m Over Contract Breach

Floyd Mayweather’s Bugatti Veyron targeted as US Court orders Boxer to pay Nigerian firm $2.4m over contract breach.
Court order follows the termination of agreement, which required the ex-US boxer to make different appearances in Africa.
Despite terminating the deal without cause, Mayweather refused to reimburse advance payment made to him for the service.
To enforce the latest judgment, USA attorneys instructed to target Mayweather’s Bugatti Veyron or his Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta.
A California Court of Appeal has upheld the ruling of a lower court, ordering Floyd Mayweather Jr., to pay a Nigerian company, Zinni Media Concept Limited, the sum of $2.4m (N4.2 billion) in damages over breach of contract and fraud.
The dispute stemed from an agreement between Zinni Media, owned by Prince Donatus Okonkwo, and Mayweather, which required the ex-US boxer to make different appearances in Africa, including one Nigeria in June 2017.
Mayweather however terminated the deal without cause and refused to reimburse advance payment made to him for the service, according to a statement signed by the company’s media executive, Alex Nwankwo (Alex Reports).
“Feeling violated and robbed, Zinni Media Ltd had no option but to seek and retain legal assistance within the USA to address the breach of contract.”
“We are grateful that two courts have granted a prayer by Zinni Media Ltd to impose terminating sanctions against Mayweather,” the statement added.
The lower court had on October 31, 2023 ordered Mayweather to pay Zinni $1,638,542 in damages, $721,881.32 in prejudgment interest, $16,270 in sanctioned attorney fees, as well as $285 in costs – totaling $2.4 million.
To enforce the latest judgement, the court instructed USA attorneys to target Mayweather’s 2015 Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse or his 2015 Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta, both valued over the judgment amount.
