Video : Moment A High-speed Bullet Train Overtakes A Regular Train In China
Footage of Chinese Fuxing High-speed bullet train overtaking a regular train goes viral in China.
With an operating speed of 350kph (217 mph), Fuxing bullet trains is the world’s fastest in regular service.
But China is already testing new bullet train called CR450, which reached speeds of 281mph during a test run last month.
When it finally enters service, CR450 will fill the gap between conventional high-speed rail services and aircraft.
A video shared shows the moment a high-speed ‘Fuxing‘ bullet train overtakes a regular train in China, highlighting just how far rail engineering has developed in the country in the last century.
Developed by CRRC, the Fuxing is a series of high-speed and higher-speed Electric Multiple Units (EMUs) trains operated by China Railway High-speed (CRH).
With an operating speed of 350 kilometers per hour (217 mph), the Chinese Fuxing bullet trains is the world’s fastest conventional high speed trains in regular service.

Though, the People’s Republic of China has the world’s longest high-speed rail network – with a total length of 42,000 kilometres (26,000 mi) by the end of 2022 – the country still operates slower trains.
But China is already testing new Chinese-built bullet train called CR450, which reached speeds of 281 miles (452 kilometers) per hour during a test run last month on June 28th.
To put the speed into perspective, the bullet train will be able to cover the 758 kilometers (468 miles) driving distance from Lagos to Abuja in 1 hr 40 minutes, assuming the road were to be high-speed line.
When it finally enters service, the CR450 will fill the gap between conventional high-speed rail services with operating speed of 217 mph, and aircraft, which has a cruise at speeds between 559-621 mph.
