Next-Generation Skoda Superb Hatchback Spotted With Less Camouflage
Where the Volkswagen Passat will now only go through life as a Variant, the side-by-side developed and built next Skoda Superb will soon be available in two flavors; as a hatchback and as a Combi.
The Skoda Superb hatchback is still in the same camouflage print but is still a bit better to see than in the spy photos from earlier this year. The Superb is quite traditionally designed and distinguishes itself as a hatchback at the back from the current one by the sharper-shaped and flatter taillights. It is also clearly visible that Skoda writes the brand name quite heavily on the boot lid. Speaking of that boot lid: there is now up to 645 liters of luggage space underneath, 20 liters more than in the current Superb hatchback. The Combi will of course be a larger pack mule; You can store up to 690 liters in it. Incidentally, the hatchback grows relatively more than the Combi, albeit marginally. At 4.91 m, it is 4.3 cm longer than the current one, where the Combi grows by 4 cm.
As we heard earlier, we can soon expect the new Skoda Superb on the market with a 150 hp mild-hybrid 1.5 TSI. The international engine list also includes a 2.0 TSI and some diesel, but they are not coming our way. The most interesting one here will be the 204 hp plug-in hybrid version, which will come later. We expect the unveiling of the new Skoda Superb sometime in the coming weeks.
