Nissan Is Recalling Several Models Of The Armada And Infiniti QX SUVs
Nissan is recalling the Armada SUV to replace an incorrect Gross Axle Weight Rating sticker in the door jamb, which may provide inaccurate tire pressure and cargo load information.
The automaker is recalling several Armada, QX56, and QX80 models due to incorrect Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) stickers. While seemingly minor, inaccurate labels can lead to improper tire pressure and cargo loading, causing premature wear. No safety incidents have been reported, and Nissan will provide replacement stickers free of charge.
Nissan discovered a discrepancy in May 2025 regarding FMVSS 110 regulatory language and NHTSA test procedures. Investigations revealed that Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) labels were incorrectly calculated using only maximum tire pressure instead of the recommended placard pressure. After identifying all affected models by June 2026, Nissan initiated a formal recall on July 8, 2026.
Stop-sale orders for affected models begin July 16, 2026, with owner notifications starting September 4, 2026. Owners can check VINs online after July 16. The recall covers 2020–2026 Nissan Armada, 2011–2013 Infiniti QX56, and 2014–2026 Infiniti QX80. Nissan will provide replacement stickers by mail or at dealerships free of charge, with repairs taking under 30 minutes.
