Due To The Possibility Of Seat Belt Loosening, 1.5 Million Ram Trucks Were Recalled
Ram is recalling over 1.5 million Ram 1500 trucks globally because of improperly secured rear seat belt anchors that may fail during a crash.
The recall campaign encompasses Ram 1500 models produced between 2019 and 2026. This safety action affects approximately 1.27 million vehicles in the United States, alongside 156,000 units in Canada, 15,000 in Mexico, and approximately 75,000 additional vehicles distributed globally.
Stellantis is recalling over 1.5 million Ram 1500 trucks (2019–2026) due to improperly secured rear seat belt anchors. This defect can cause seat belt failure during a crash, posing a serious safety risk to rear passengers. Stellantis has confirmed one injury related to the issue and advises owners to visit dealerships for inspection and repair.
Owners will be notified to schedule a dealership inspection to secure rear seat belt anchors. This recall covers model years up to 2026, leaving the new 2027 lineup—including the 777 hp 1500 TRX SRT and the Rumble Bee series—unaffected.
The 2027 Ram 1500 lineup starts with the 395 hp 5.7L Hemi Rumble Bee at $62,790, followed by the 470 hp 6.4L Rumble Bee 392. The $97,790 Rumble Bee SRT tops the range with a 777 hp supercharged engine, hitting 0–60 mph in 3.4 seconds. Other MY27 updates include new colors, expanded 360-degree camera availability, and an optional 2 kW onboard power system for the 3.6L Pentastar V6.
