Peugeot Introduces The 2025 e-5008, The Brand’s Largest EV Till Date
Spacious, stylish, and packed with advanced technology—that’s how we can sum up Peugeot’s latest addition to its fast-growing EV portfolio. The all-new Peugeot e-5008 promises to redefine the electric SUV segment—yes, it’s a promise we’ve heard many times before. The new electric SUV is designed for those who demand exceptional performance, class-leading efficiency, and plenty of room for the whole family—that’s how Peugeot describes it. But let’s cut through the hyped-up press release and find out what’s what.
The e-5008 is a seven-seater SUV based on the STLA Medium dedicated electric platform. (WLTP cycle)—of course, depending on the vehicle trim you choose. Its base configuration outputs a potent 210 horsepower (157 kW) to the front wheels. The long-range version is also FWD but steps up to 230 horsepower. This one is the only one for which we have a range estimate of 660 km. Finally, there’s the range-topping 320-horsepower dual-motor AWD version. The front motor in each setup delivers 345 Nm of torque, while the rear motor adds 170 Nm in the dual-motor configuration.
Peugeot is keeping quiet on the battery capacity for now, but it confirmed the entry model will have the smallest capacity, and judging by the e-3008, that’s likely the 73 kWh pack with 71 kWh usable. The long-range and AWD models will share a larger NMC battery, which in all likelihood will be the 98 kWh that the STLA Medium platform accommodates. The e-5008 can recharge from 20% to 80% in just 30 minutes if you find a DC charger capable of outputting at least 160 kW.
Inside, you get Peugeot’s innovative Panoramic i-Cockpit with a 21-inch infotainment display (standard only on top-trim GT models). Peugeot promises it’s highly responsive and customizable to your preferences, ensuring everything you need is at your fingertips—or controlled by voice commands.
Steering wheel heating offers added comfort on chilly mornings. Behind the wheel, two new paddles are dedicated to regenerative braking options. Rows two and three feature adaptable seating positions, allowing you to prioritize legroom or cargo space as needed.
The e-5008 boasts 40 driver assistance and safety features, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and semi-automatic lane change. The e-5008 comes with Peugeot’s comprehensive Allure Care program with coverage for up to eight years and 160,000 km on the main electrical and mechanical components. It’s a testament to the brand’s belief in the quality and reliability of its EV.
The E-5008 will go on sale in the fall of 2024. Pricing will be released closer to the car’s arrival in showrooms.
