A 1972 Lincoln Continental Presidential Limousine used by Jimmy Carter, who served as the 39th president of the United States from 1977 to 1981, is currently on display at the Henry Ford Museum.
Ordered as a 1970 model with the 1972 body style, the 1972 Lincoln Continental, also used by Presidents Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush, was later updated to match 1977-1979 models.
The 1972 Lincoln Continental Presidential limousine was involved in the 1975 assassination attempt of President Gerald Ford, as well as the assassination attempt of President Ronald Reagan on March 30, 1981.
