LASEMA recovers PSP truck that fell into the Lagos Lagoon inward Iyana-Oworo last week Tuesday.

The agency reports that the PSP truck veered off the bridge and into the Lagos as a result of a burst tyre.

Agency had earlier announced traffic diversion plan on 3rd Mainland Bridge until the operation is concluded.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) on Sunday, October 23rd, recovered of a PSP truck that plunged into the Lagos lagoon inward Iyana-Oworo last week Tuesday.

LASEMA reports that the truck veered off the bridge and into the Lagos lagoon as a result of a burst tyre. Following the incident, LASEMA’s marine divers, who swift into action, rescued the two occupants of the waste compactor alive.

The agency had earlier announced traffic diversion plan on 3rd Mainland Bridge on Sunday (today) 23/10/2022 from 2pm until the recovery operation is concluded.

In a statement announcing the diversion plan, the DG/CEO of LASEMA, Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, said :





“Recovery of the ill-fated truck commenced the following morning as visibility was required. Having located the truck with the diving team, retrieval using the Agency’s heavy duty equipment is now scheduled for Sunday 23rd October.”

“The general public is to note that traffic diversions will be in place from 2pm until the operation is concluded on the THIRD MAINLAND BRIDGE.”

“Motorists are urged to use alternative routes where possible. All stakeholders will be on standby to ensure the process runs smoothly and safely.”
