Police Warn Against The Use Of Siren, Revolving Light, Covered Number Plates – “They Are Punishable Under The Law”
Police says that the use of siren, revolving light, unregistered vehicles, covered number plates “are punishable under the law”.
Nigerian Police spokesperson notes that most of these violators torment and harass innocent people on the road.
Says Police Commands and Formations have been directed to go after the violators and prosecute them accordingly.
The Nigerian Police Force has again warned that the use of siren, revolving light, unregistered vehicles, and covered number plates are illegal and punishable under the law.
In a series of tweets on his official Twitter account on Thursday February 1st, the Nigerian Police Force Spokesperson, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said the police commands and formations have been directed to clamp down on violators and prosecute them accordingly.
“The use of siren, revolving light, unregistered vehicles, and covered number plates are illegal and punishable under the law. Many who use siren now are not qualified.
“Many cover their number plates while many dont even have registered numbers, yet they torment and harass innocent people on the road. All these are illegalities.
“We are ready to descend on the violators and cause them to face the full wrath of the law. Our commands and formations have been directed to go after the violators and prosecute them accordingly.
“We must regulate the indiscriminate use of siren, revolving light, and sanitise our system by all means. It’s not for Tom, Dick and Harry. We deserve the best. Ire o.”
