Porsche Posts 145,860 Deliveries In First Half-year, Cayenne Remains Bestseller

German Sports car manufacturer, Porsche, posts 145,860 deliveries worldwide in first half-year of 2022.
Cayenne remains bestseller, with a total of 41,947 units, followed by Macan, with 38,039 deliveries.
Third is iconic 911, with 21,616, while all-electric Taycan was handed to 18,877 customers worldwide.
15,604 Panameras was delivered, while 9,777 units of the 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman models went out to customers.
Sports car manufacturer, Porsche, says it delivered 145,860 vehicles to customers around the world between January and June, a decline of 5 per cent over the 153,656 units from the previous year.
In Europe, the number of vehicle deliveries rose to 43,087 (+7 per cent), including 13,785 deliveries in the home market of Germany, a figure that represents a 5 per cent gain year on year.
In China, Porsche was able to deliver 40,681 vehicles to customers in spite of months-long lockdowns in some cities, a 16 per cent drop compared to the previous year.
Overall, German sports car manufacturer delivered 62,245 vehicles to Porsche customers in the Asia-Pacific region, Africa and the Middle East.
Despite being confronted with delivery and transit difficulties, Porsche delivered 32,529 vehicles to customers in U.S, a decline of 10 per cent over the 36,326 sold during its strongest-ever half-year last year.
“We and our dealers have successfully navigated a first half-year shaped by external factors and uncertainties,” says Detlev von Platen, Board Member for Sales and Marketing at Porsche AG.
“In addition to the difficulties posed by the resurgence of the COVID pandemic in China and other markets, ongoing supply-chain- and logistics-related challenges have accompanied us.
“At the same time, the desirability of our brand and popularity of our products remains strong. We expect the second half-year to be dynamic. As in previous years, we are optimistic about the future and determined to go full steam ahead with the remaining months of the year.”
The Cayenne remains the most popular Porsche model, with a total of 41,947 units delivered to customers worldwide, thanks to high demand for sports utility vehicles (SUV) models.
This is followed by Macan, with 38,039 deliveries, iconic 911 went to 21,616 new owners, while all-electric Taycan was handed to 18,877 customers worldwide, despite production limitations due to supply-chain bottlenecks.
The 4 seater Panamera sedan was delivered 15,604 times in First half-year, while 9,777 examples of the 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman models went out to customers worldwide.
“We are heading into the third quarter full of energy and optimism and, in addition to deliveries, we continue to focus on unique brand experiences for our customers,” adds von Platen.
