Porsche’s All-Electric Sports Car Will Now Be Called Taycan. See How It Is Pronounced

Porsche’s upcoming all-electric supercar formerly known as Mission E (concept model) will now be called the Taycan .
The Taycan, pronounced “Tie-kahn” which means lively young horse( or spirited young horse) in Eurasian , comes from the black horse on the Stuttgart coat of arms and Porsche emblem.
Volkswagen owned Porsche said “Our new electric sports car is strong and dependable; it’s a vehicle that can consistently cover long distances and that epitomizes freedom”.

The 600 horsepower Taycan (447 kilowatts) can reach 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) in less than 3.5 seconds.
Taycan will also cover over 300 miles on a single charge. A 800 volts charger will take the battery pack from flat to 80 per cent charge in fifteen minutes .

The Taycan name reflect the all-electric model’s characteristics just like the fieriness of the Cayenne , the sharpness and agility of Cayman while the Macan name is an Indonesian word for tiger.
