Sanwo-Olu Commissions Red Line Overpass Bridge At Yaba For Public Use (Photos)
Sanwo-Olu commissions the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Red Line overpass bridge at Yaba for public use.
It is designed to ease flow of traffic for commuters and to eliminate accidents often recorded at level crossings in Lagos.
Yaba Overpass is one of the four that lined up for commissioning. Others are at Oyingbo, Mushin, and Ikeja Along Overpass.
Governor of Lagos State Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Thursday, 2nd November 2023 commissioned the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Red Line overpass bridge at Yaba for public use.
The new Yaba Overpass is designed to ease the flow of traffic for commuters and to reduce traffic congestion and eliminate accidents often recorded at level crossings in Lagos.
At the commissioning, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu restated the commitment of his administration to provide affordable and reliable transportation.
“Today, I commissioned the Yaba Flyover Bridge Project—a vital part of the Lagos Red Line Rail Project. This modern transportation system is set to transform Lagos, simplify residents’ lives, save time on the road, and boost our GDP.
“The Yaba Bus Station is a key component of our transportation network. Linked to the Yaba Train Station, it paves the way for pedestrian-friendly spaces, saving time on commute, and improving the lives of Lagos residents.
“With the Yaba Flyover, seamless travel from Jibowu to Ojuelegba, Tejuoso to Muritala Muhammed way, and beyond becomes a reality.”
The Yaba Overpass is one of the four that the Lagos State Government has lined up for commissioning. Others are at Oyingbo, Mushin, and Ikeja Along Overpass.
Dignitaries at the commissioning includes the Deputy Governor, Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat, Speaker Mudashiru Obasa, who was represented by Hon. Ademola Kasumu, Transportation Commissioner Oluwaseun Osiyemi, and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation Sola Giwa.
