Sanwo-Olu Personally Drove Himself To Cast His Vote In His ₦60m BMW X5 Protection VR6

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu drove himself to his polling unit in his BMW X5 Protection VR6 Crossover SUV.

While Sanwo-Olu uses a bulletproof Range Rover Sentinel as his official vehicle, the X5 Protection VR6 is his personal ride.

X5 Protection VR6 is an armored version of X5 designed to safeguard against attacks from short-long-range weapons.

As at 2020, X5 Protection is priced at $83,140 (N38m), a bulletproof that will likely cost over N60m to own in Nigeria.

Lagos State Governor and APC candidate, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and his wife Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu casted their votes for Governorship and House of Assembly elections earlier today.

Video shared by Goldmynetv on its Instagram page shows the moment Sanwo-Olu and his wife arrived at his polling Unit 006, Eiyekole at Adeniji Adele, Lagos Island around 10.18am. to cast their votes.

Sanwo-Olu, who seek to get re-elected for another four years in office, personally drove himself and his wife to his voting center in a BMW X5 Protection VR6.

After casting his vote, Sanwolu said :

“Election that leads to a democratic process is the best for a validation for what democracy should be about.

“It is also about a peaceful process, and so I would continue to preach and advocate for everyone to express themselves freely, fairly and transparently.

“I’m indeed happy driving here this morning. I am excited and I’m happy today.”

While Governor Sanwo-Olu uses a bulletproof Range Rover Sentinel as his official vehicle, the BMW X5 Protection VR6 Crossover SUV is his personal ride.

Sanwo-Olu’s BMW X5 Protection VR6 is a 2014 – 2017 model armor-plated version of X5 Crossover SUV designed to safeguard against attacks from short-range and long-range weapons.

As at 2020, BMW’s X5 Protection VR6 is priced at $83,140 (₦38 million), a bulletproof that will likely cost over ₦60 million to own in Nigeria. But BMW has announced plans to introduce an armored variant of its flagship car, the i7 sedan.
