Someone left $191k (₦74 million) worth of gold bars on a Swiss train and also forgot to claim it eight months after.

Now, Swiss authorities is seeking the public’s help in identifying the individual who left the gold.

Yes, you read that right… Swiss Authorities is currently searching for the owner of $191K worth of Gold bars that was left on a commuter train eight months ago.

The discovery is only being made public now after efforts by authorities to find the owner were unsuccessful.

According to an official statement, the owner has five years to stake their claim at the prosecutor’s office in Lucerne.

The gold bars were found on a train headed from the Swiss city of St. Gallen to Lucerne last October. Since then, no one has come forward to claim the bullion.

The precious metal was discovered by a train worker and there are currently no known crime connections to the gold bars.





Based on the value, the bars would weigh over 3kg.

Local reports revealed that “Intensive investigations” reportedly followed the find, but local authorities failed to track down the owner of the bullion”

Now, Swiss authorities is seeking the public’s help in identifying the individual who left the gold.

The gold bars have been confiscated by the prosecutor’s office. The rightful owner has up to five years to claim the gold by proving ownership.

As at time of filling this report, no one has claimed the gold bars.
