Toyota Teases Upcoming 2025 4Runner SUV - autojosh

Toyota just gave us a sneak peek of the upcoming, six-generation Toyota 2025 4Runner SUV.

Teaser reveal the SUV’s rear, with the “4Runner” badge now placed on the lower part of the tailgate.

Toyota hasn’t released any details about the completely redesigned body-on-frame 4Runner SUV.

It is expected to use the TNGA-F platform that’s already in use on the Land Cruiser, Tacoma, Tundra, and Sequoia.

Toyota USA has given us a sneak peek of the upcoming 2025 Toyota 4Runner while showing off previous generations of the SUV – right from the 1984 model to the current and fifth-generation model that arrived back in 2009.

The teaser shared shows a close-up shot of the rear of the redesigned SUV, which now has a new “4Runner” badge placed on the lower part of the tailgate. Before now, the “4Runner” nameplate sits below the Toyota badge.

“From 1984 to so much more… Can you identify each model year?,” Toyota USA said in its caption.

The next-generation Toyota 4Runner seen in the teaser wears a vibrant blue paint that looks like the Heritage Blue available on the 250 Series Land Cruiser.

Toyota hasn’t released any details about the 4Runner, but the completely redesigned body-on-frame SUV is expected to use the modular TNGA-F platform, that is already in use on the Land Cruiser, Tacoma, Tundra, and Sequoia.

In addition, the upcoming 4Runner will likely use the Tacoma’s turbocharged 2.4L four-cylinder, in place of the dependable 270-horsepower 4.0-liter V-6 used on the current model.

Since its debut in 1983, the Toyota 4Runners have been built in Japan at Toyota’s plant in Tahara, Aichi, or at the Hino Motors (a Toyota subsidiary) plant in Hamura.
