Ogun State Donates Patrol Vehicles And Motorcycles To Security Agencies To Help Fight Crime (Photos)

Ogun has donated fully equipped patrol vehicles to various security agencies within the state to support them in fighting crime.

Ogun State Government, on Tuesday, donated patrol vehicles and motorcycles through the State Security Trust Fund (OGSTF) to various security agencies operating within the State.

According to the State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, the procurement of the fully equipped vehicles was aimed at curbing crimes in the State.





He added that there is no place for anything that would threaten the peace and safety of individuals and business across the State.

The latest released of patrol vehicles followed the initial release of 100 patrol vans and 200 motorbikes by the State government in September 2019.

During the presentation, 69 pick-up vans were given to the State Police Command, while the specialized QRS unit received 10.

Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) got 10; while the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) took delivery of two vans.

The State Government also donated five operational vehicles to the Nigerian Army; five to the Police; one to the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS); while the Department of State Services (DSS) received two.





All the pickup vans were fully equipped with information and communication gadget for intelligence gathering. Some of the gadgets, which includes sirens and telecoms equipment, will help in reaching out to officers on outpost and assignments.

Also the security agencies were also handed branded motorcycles to help navigate neighbourhoods.
