MINI Will Switch To Fully-Electric Vehicles By 2030

BMW-owned British brand MINI will switch to fully-electric vehicles by early 2030.
MINI plans to launch more EVs after 2023, which will join its only pure-EV, the two-door Cooper SE.

MINI has joined notable automakers wishing to ditch polluting and fuel-burning vehicles after announcing plans to switch to fully-electric vehicles by early 2030s.
The news was broken by Oliver Zipse, BMW chairman at the BMW Annual Conference 2021 during the unveiling of the production spec BMW i4 electric sedan.
The BMW-owned British brand said its goal to launch its last-ever internal combustion-engined vehicle in 2025. Before then, MINI plans to launch more EVs after 2023, which will join its only pure-EV, the two-door Cooper SE.
MINI will switch to fully-electric vehicles by 2030
From 2023, the MINI Countryman plug-in hybrid would emerge as a full-electric car as the automaker race to make fully electric vehicles to account for more than 50 percent of its sales by 2027.
Production of the all-electric MINI will start in 2023 in Leipzig plant in Germany. BMW’s joint venture with Great Wall will also see a further full-electric Made-in-China version of the MINI.
Last year, the automaker sold 292,000 MINI vehicles. The electric and hybrid versions of the MINI accounted for 6% and 11% of the total sales respectively.
