Official: Gorilla Glass Technology Finds Its Way Into Jeep Gladiator And Wrangler
Jeep is now offering the famous smartphone glass protection Gorilla Glass to 2 of its vehicles in the Wrangler and Gladiator truck.
This feature will be available on the windshield of both vehicles and they’re only covered by a two-year unlimited-mile warranty. The Gorilla Glass material in these windshields is the same chemical-strengthened material that is now common for mobile phone screens. The panels for the Jeeps use sandwiched construction that has a Gorilla Glass inner ply and outer glass that is 52 percent thicker than usual.
Jeep Performance Parts will offer a Gorilla Glass replacement windshield for the current Jeep Wrangler (JL), four-door Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (JL), Jeep Gladiator (JT) pickup truck, and the previous-generation Wrangler (JK).
According to Mopar’s Mark Bosanac, “Out on the trail or on a daily commute, windshield damage can happen anywhere at any time. Our proven, quality-tested JPP replacement windshields made with Gorilla Glass offer hard-core Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator owners additional protection and a factory warranty.”
Pricing ranges from $793 to $932 depending on what features you need for your model. Those prices are for the parts, so installation could cost a little extra. Mopar only offers this Gorilla Glass feature as an aftermarket accessory and hasn’t indicated whether it will be fully integrated into production models from the factory.
