Like in all automated systems, accidents can also occur in this tested self-washing and cleaning car wash. A footage recently shared on social media pages shows how an auto washing process turned horribly bad.
The whole process started as planned with the massive brushes and sprays giving the Range Rover Evoque SUV a good wash before the rear door – the tailgate – suddenly opened by itself.
With no human in sight to quickly shut the tailgate, the massive rotating brush, which is now at the rear and on its way towards the front ended up crushing the widely opened tailgate.
From the short clip taking from a CCTV, it can be deduced that if a human had monitor the washing from a control room, this accident could have been prevented.
