Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Commander, Ayodele Kimapayi, has advised officers to shun bribery and corruption in the discharge of their duties.
Mr. Kumapayi, who is Zonal Commanding Officer in the zone, comprising Edo, Delta, and Anambra states, gave the advice at the first quarter Durbar of the zone, on Friday in Benin.
He asserted that the corps had zero tolerance for negative acts, urging the personnel to ensure that they upheld the integrity of the corps in the discharge of their duties.
He also advised them to be more dedicated and committed to their duties.
The FRSC chief explained that the corps usually organized durbar on a quarterly basis, saying that it was an avenue for officers, marshals, and special marshals to rub minds and share ideas in a relaxed atmosphere.
He, however, added that the zone decided to make the first quarter durbar bigger by including an appreciation party for stakeholders who assisted FRSC in 2021.
“Road safety is everybody’s business. So, we need to single out some of them because they have sacrificed their time and career to ensure that we have a safer motoring environment in the zone,” he said.
Mr. Kumapayi further said that the FRSC personnel in the zone had resolved to be more committed to their job.
“So we expect this to circulate when they are on the road,” he said.
