Police Apprehend Hit-And-Run Lebanese Driver In Lagos
Omotomi Akinsanya, a lady from Lagos, was reportedly injured on her leg after being hit by a hit-and-run Lebanese who allegedly drove against traffic in the Victoria Island region.
The incident, which was confirmed on the Twitter account of SP Benjamin Hundeyin, Spokesperson, Lagos State Police Command, reportedly took place at around 0745 hours on Wednesday.
According to reports, a middle-aged Lebanese named John Greg’m’ allegedly drove a Toyota 4Runner dangerously and against traffic on Sanusi Fafunwa Road, striking one Omotomi and causing significant leg injuries.
When he saw the deed, he allegedly sped away, but was pursued and captured by sympathisers.
Later, the suspect was handed over to the police.
“Suspect in our custody,” the Police Spokesperson tweeted. Our station has the vehicle impounded. The victim is being treated at LASUTH. The victim’s relatives was informed as well. The Embassy of Lebanon has been notified. “The investigation is still ongoing.”
According to a Twitter user, the collision had such an impact that the vehicle’s number plate had fallen off.
Some Twitter users have expressed their displeasure with the occurrence and have condemned it.
