Next-gen Peugeot 408 is a Crossover fastback instead of a sedan.

The previous three (3) generations of the Peugeot 408 were 4-door Sedans.

Peugeot 408 model was first unveiled on January 25, 2010, at the Beijing Auto Show.

French automaker Peugeot has confirmed a new coupe SUV model will join its current lineup of vehicles towards the end of June 2022.

Officially called the Peugeot 408, the brand said the new model combines the high-riding features of SUVs with a dynamic fastback silhouette.

The previous three (3) generations of the Peugeot 408 were 4-door sedans – a model first unveiled on January 25, 2010, at the Beijing Auto Show.

Commenting on the model, Peugeot said :

“The PEUGEOT 408 will be a brand new model in the Lion Brand range. Unexpected, it is a new species of PEUGEOT: in an original way, it combines the characteristic codes of SUVs with a dynamic Fastback silhouette.

“Both in terms of design and engineering, the search for high efficiency and the desire to offer new experiences were at the heart of the development of the new PEUGEOT 408.

“Aimed at those for whom the automobile is a pleasure, the 408 brings an unprecedented Allure to the PEUGEOT family” Peugeot said in a statement.

Alongside the 408 name confirmation, Peugeot also teased the car’s front, showing Peugeot’s new emblem on a massive grille with a zig-zag mesh pattern.

The upcoming model expected to sit between the Peugeot 308 hatchback and Peugeot 3008 Compact Crossover SUV.
