Ten Bentleys On Grand Parade To Celebrate 40 Years Of Turbocharged Models

40th anniversary of turbocharged Bentley celebrated with 10-car parade at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Seven turbocharged Bentley models from its Heritage Collection joined by three cars from across current range.
Bentley revealed its first-ever turbocharged production model, the Mulsanne Turbo, 40 years ago at the Geneva Motor Show.
The 4-door sedan redefined its performance credentials and also marked a turning point in the company’s fortunes.
Today’s W12, V8 and V6 engines all benefit from turbocharging to deliver astonishing levels of performance and efficiency.
Bentley Motors revealed its first-ever turbocharged production model, the Bentley Mulsanne Turbo, 40 years ago at the Geneva Motor Show. In addition to marking a turning point in the company’s fortunes, the four-door sedan also redefined its performance credentials.
To celebrate four decades of handcrafting turbocharged grand tourers, the British luxury marque paraded ten Bentley models from different generations at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The ten Bentleys on parade at Goodwood to mark the occasion were :
1991 Turbo R, 2001 Arnage Red Label, 2003 Continental R Mulliner Final Series, 2010 Brooklands, 2010 Mulsanne, 2011 Continental Supersports, 2014 Continental GT V8 S, 2022 Continental GTC S, 2022 Flying Spur S and 2022 Continental GT Mulliner.
The 10-car parade consists of seven turbocharged Bentley models from its Heritage Collection alongside key models from the current range, including the 659 PS (650 bhp) Continental GT Mulliner. Three of the latest ‘S’ models featuring the 542 bhp (550 PS) 4.0-litre V8 were also part of the collection at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
In the forty years since the first turbocharged Bentley, the immense reserves of power and effortless torque that characterise Bentley engines have become inseparably associated with turbocharging.
