No casualties were reported after a speeding Mercedes-Benz G-Class (G-Wagon) SUV collided with a barrier wall at the Eko Hotel roundabout in Victoria Island area of Lagos State.
A video circulating on social media captured the aftermath of the shocking crash. In the short clip seen by Autojosh, the Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUV was seen resting atop the concrete median, with its front tyres floating in the air.

While there are official statement yet about the crash, many netizens believed the single-vehicle crash was caused by excessive speeding or Driving Under Influence (DUI), though a mechanical failure like bad brakes is also a possible cause of the accident.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says that its 2026 Eid-el-Kabir Special Patrol Operations from May 25th through May 31st 2026 helped delivered significant decline in road traffic crashes across critical road safety indices nationwide.
According to FRSC’s operational report on June 6th, road traffic crashes declined dramatically by 25.65 percent, dropping from 191 crashes recorded during the same period in 2025, to 142 in 2026.
