Which Vehicle Will Reach 400,000 Km Miles? Toyota Leads, Tesla A Surprise
According to a new iSeeCars study of more than 174 million vehicles, Toyota sits comfortably at the top with a 17.8 percent chance of reaching a quarter of a million miles (402 thousand kilometers).
Lexus follows with 12.8 percent, while Honda and Acura complete the top of the order dominated by Japanese manufacturers. They are the only four manufacturers to beat the overall industry average of 4.8 percent.
Interestingly, Tesla is in an impressive sixth place with a 4.6 percent chance of reaching 402 thousand kilometers. That result puts it ahead of brands such as Mazda, Subaru, Volvo, Mercedes, BMW and Porsche. That’s a big result for an electric car, especially since battery life is often debated and viewed with skepticism. On the other hand, electric cars have far fewer parts than gasoline or hybrid cars, for example. Toyota is still dominant and by a wide margin. The same goes for Honda.
As for brands at the bottom, Land Rover has a barely measurable 0.1 percent chance of reaching 402,000 kilometers, while Jaguar and Maserati barely make it to that mark. The research is American, but it is indicative…
