More Details Of The 2024 Refreshed Sonata Has Come To Light
Shortly after its online unveiling earlier this week, Hyundai took the 2024 refreshed Sonata to the Seoul Mobility Show in South Korea for its public premiere, announcing more details about it at the same time.
It’s not guaranteed that all the specs listed here will apply to the US-spec model, but Hyundai has confirmed that the updated sedan will come with a 2.0-liter hybrid engine, a 2.5-liter gas engine, and a 2.5-liter turbo for the N Line, specifically. All of these engines are available already, but interestingly, the 1.6-liter turbo that is available for the 2023 Sonata wasn’t mentioned, so the mill could be dropped from the lineup. Hyundai hasn’t confirmed if the engines’ outputs have changed, either.
Outside, the color palette gets almost completely redone. Six of the seven colors available today give way to Abyss Black Pearl, Aero Silver in matte or metallic, Atlas White, Biophilic Blue Pearl, Cream Beige and Curated Silver Metallic, Nocturne Gray in matte or metallic, Serenity White Pearl, Transmission Blue Pearl. Ultimate Red Metallic carries over to the refreshed sedan.
Inside, expanded fabric and leather color choices include black, two-tone dark gray and greige, two-tone dark gray and camel, two-tone dark gray and navy, and a dark gray cabin with red cross-stitching exclusive to the N-Line. The new cabin furniture can be dressed in “cross-metal patterned garnishes” as well.
Drivers will be assisted on the go by an array of safety systems, including blind-spot collision assist, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, forward collision-avoidance assist, lane keeping assist, lane following assist, safe exit assist, navigation-based smart cruise control with stop & go, highway driving assist, remote smart parking assist, and others. The noise, vibration, and harness are said to have been improved, and the vehicle performs better and is less thirsty compared to its predecessors.
