LAMATA Boss Inspects Five Train Stations Along Marina And Mile 2 Ahead Of Start Of Operation

LAMATA boss inspects five train stations of the first phase of the LRMT Blue Line from Marina to Mile 2 ahead of start of operation.
During her visit, she inspected Automatic Fare Collection system as well the functioning of the lifts and escalators.
Following the inspections, LAMATA boss expressed optimism for the commencement of passenger operations.
The Managing Director of Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), Engr. Mrs. Abimbola Akinajo, has inspected the five train stations of the first phase of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue Line ahead of commencement of passenger operations.
The first phase of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue Line stretches 13-kilometres from Marina to Mile 2, covering five Stations at Mile 2, Suru-Alaba, Orile Iganmu, National Theatre and Marina.
During her visit to the five train stations, LAMATA boss, who inspected facilities such as the Automatic Fare Collection system as well the functioning of the lifts and escalators, expressed optimism for the commencement of passenger operations.
“Today, the Managing Director of Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), Engr. Mrs. Abimbola Akinajo inspected the five train stations of the first phase of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue Line from Marina to Mile 2.
“At each station, she looked at the directional signs, the Automatic Fare Collection system, the functioning of the lifts and escalators, and the CCTV.
“She also inspected the Independent Power Plant which has a combined out of five megawatts and the temporary maintenance yard. She expressed optimism for the commencement of passenger operations very soon.
Recall that Ex-president Muhammadu Buhari had on Tuesday, 24 January, 2023, inaugurated the first phase of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue Line (Marina–Mile 2) at the Marina Terminal.
Buhari, in the company of Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his Deputy, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, also took part in the inaugural ride on the electric-powered train from the Marina Station to National Theatre Station.
