Genesis GV60 Magma Set To Go Into production in 2025
Genesis confirmed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed that the first car from their new Magma sub-brand will be launched in the second half of 2025.
More precisely, the GV60 Magma model, a close relative of Hyundai’s Ioniq 5 N, will go into production in the fall of 2025. Korean sales will begin around the same time, but Europe won’t get its cars until the very end of 2025, and American buyers may have to wait even longer.
Genesis hasn’t yet revealed many technical details about the GV60 Magma, saying only that the concept features “advanced battery and motor technology.”
In addition, the GV60 Magma is lower than the standard model and features a revised front fascia, rear spoiler, revised bumpers, roof fins, 21-inch wheels, as well as a leather interior with orange contrast stitching and body-coloured seat backs.
However, it is assumed that the GV60 Magma will be very close to the Ioniq 5 N, which has up to 650 hp (with two electric motors and four-wheel drive).
“Genesis Magma represents an exciting opportunity to push the boundaries of performance and luxury in high-performance vehicles, with the ultimate goal of developing Genesis-exclusive models,” said Genesis Chief Creative Officer Luc Donckervolke. “The brand will continue to unveil experimental concepts with careful consideration of both technological and aesthetic elements. While speed and performance are important, the Genesis Magma program will look beyond that, prioritizing the driving experience to ignite the joy of sporty driving with effortless comfort.”
