LASG Conducts Site Visit To Advance The Realization Of The Lagos Green Line

Lagos State Government, through LAMATA, conducts site visit to advance the realization of the Lagos Green Line.

Significant step follows the recent signing of MoU in China for the construction of the Lagos Green Line.

67-km Green Line is projected to carry over 500,000 passengers per day at starting, rising to over a million as demand grows.

Designed to run from the Lekki Free Zone to Marina, the initial phase of the proposed Lagos Green Line will cover 33 kilometers.

The Lagos State Government, through the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), has conducted a site visit to advance the realization of the 67-kilometers Green Line Rail Mass Transit Project.

A delegation comprising representatives from the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), China Harbour Engineering company and Nexant Consulting, participated in the inspection.

Representatives from Advanced Engineering Consultants (AEC), Lagos State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure and Federal Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI) also took part in the site visit.

“The primary objective of the site visit was to familiarize the construction company with the project’s right of way,” LAMATA said in a statement.

“This information will be crucial for completing their comprehensive feasibility study and subsequently determining the most optimal approach for constructing the Green Line.”

This significant step follows the recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in China for the construction of the Lagos Green Line, which promises to provide a more efficient and sustainable commuting option for its residents.

The Green Line rail project, spanning a total of 67 kilometers, is projected to carry over 500,000 passengers per day at starting, rising to over a million as demand grows.

Designed to run from the Lekki Free Zone to Marina, the initial phase of the proposed 67 kilometers Lagos Green Line project will cover 33 kilometers, terminating at Omu Creek in Sangotedo.
