Xiaomi YU7 Electric SUV Spied Without Any Camouflage
Xiaomi’s SU7 has achieved remarkable success, with over 100,000 units delivered in just a few months. CEO Lei Jun has announced that the next model, YU7, will arrive next year as an SUV, notably inspired by the Ferrari Purosangue. While the CEO shared official vehicle images earlier this month, seeing a real prototype is incomparable.
Today, we bring you just that—a YU7 has been spotted cruising the streets of China without any camouflage, fully visible to the public. While the design doesn’t reveal anything new compared to the official images, it allows us to visualize how it will appear on the road and in parking lots, rather than just through press renders.
The YU7 is rumoured to cost between CNY 300,000 (€36,900) and CNY 400,000 (€49,600), and the report that brought us the live images claims it will be officially launched in June or July. Even the entry-level version reportedly has a large battery and LiDAR. The YU7 is aiming to compete directly with Tesla’s Model Y.
The YU7 is 4,999 mm long, 1,996 mm wide, and 1,600 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 3,000 mm. A dual-motor version will develop 508kW (691hp) of power with a maximum speed of 253 km/h.
