Few manufacturers can afford the luxury of limiting sales and raising prices and, at the same time, having a long line of customers in front of the door.

No matter what some exotic manufacturers do, sales will not abate. The only important thing is that they don’t lower the prices. This also applies to the relatively accessible luxury served by BMW and Mercedes, but also to the one whose world a mortal can enter only by purchasing some kind of pendant.

This certainly includes Bugatti, which at the beginning of the millennium returned to the world of hyper sports cars, surprising with the enormous power of its cars but also with an equally high price. Over the years, it has increased horsepower and speed and has maintained its exclusive status with limited series and special editions. Otherwise, he would have sold several hundred, if not thousands, of cars.

Yes, there is that other world in which Bugatti operates. The company currently offers the Tourbillon, a hybrid hyper sports car with an atmospheric V16 engine and three electric motors, with a total power of 1,800 hp. It offers the performance of dreams, and at the same time, its price is around four million euros.

But if you are interested, know that you will be waiting. You could wait years for a new copy. At Monterey Car Week 2025, Frank Heyl, Bugatti’s design director, revealed the company’s sweet travails:

“We’re producing 250 Tourbillons, and we’re finishing deliveries of the Bolide. That will keep us busy until 2029, and everything will already be sold out by then. When you have that kind of financial stability as an entrepreneur, then you know you can plan for the long term. Everything is complex.”

In other words, you can’t get a new Bugatti for at least four years. And don’t be comforted by the construction of a new plant. Bugatti is building a new production facility in France, the so-called “atelier,” but with 4,000 square meters, it will certainly not increase circulation, possibly exclusivity through further price increases on “special” versions.

There is also an alternative. On the used market, you can find interesting hyper sports cars, even Bugattis. The price is close to that of new copies, but still many see it as a good investment.
